Question

Are there any new floor products that will remove the salt residue on hard floors (ceramic tile, VCT)? We are presently using a neutral cleaner or white vinegar. Seems like it always takes 2-3 rinses, very labor intensive even with an autoscrubber.

Answer

I'm not sure of anything truly new.
Some manufacturers make a neutralizer for ice melt compounds such as calcium chloride. For example, www.stearnspkg.com/premeasured-floor-care-neutralizers.html
I'm sure a Web search will turn up more.
Ordinary salt is water-soluble and should be fairly easy to get into solution and remove.
Make certain all salt and dried salt residue that can be swept or vacuumed from the floor is removed so it does not add to the load in solution.
