Question

What can be used to put a high gloss shine on a wood floor? What is a good floor stripper for hardwood?

Answer

Generally speaking, hardwood flooring that is not factory finished is sanded after installation and finished with coats of polyurethane to leave a high gloss surface that resists spills and wear.
A quick look at the Internet under "wood flooring" will give you a multitude of articles and videos from which you can learn the details of wood floor care.
A poly finished floor should not have a wax or topical finish applied. If you must strip a misapplied metal interlock finish, you must be extremely careful since water is not the best thing to have on wood flooring. In fact, I think you would be better served by doing a light sanding to remove the old finish rather than using a chemical stripper.
