What other floor finishing products are better than the other leading brands, and where can I get the best finish that is not to expensive?

Floor finishes come in a variety of formulations. They vary in solids content and ingredients to meet differing uses in the field. Consequently, there is no answer to the question of which one is “better”.
Go to your local Jan-San supplier and tell them your requirements. Do you wish to scrub and recoat for maintenance or are you intending to burnish often? Do you have a high speed buffer or are you using a 175 rpm with spray buffing?
No matter what finish you choose, I recommend you stay with a known brand. Private label products are generally made by reputable companies, but the supplier using private labeling may be tempted to change suppliers based on product cost, leaving you with a finish that may differ from what you have been using.
Name brands are known entities and support for them is readily available. The cost of floor refinishing in not in the product, but in the time and labor it requires to do the work well. Ending up with an inferior finish from a price-cutter can be a major disaster.
Note that I corrected the use of the term “wax”. Modern floor finishes are far removed from the carnauba wax based products of old and we should adjust our terminology to conform to that change, which took place probably fifty years ago.
